Sorry I haven't posted anything recently. Life just got in the way I guess. Assignments stacked up and with finals coming up in the near future along with my room finally being habitable, I just haven't sat down and written a post.
Two Saturdays ago, I was invited by a friend to go ride some Segways in St Marys. It was honestly some of the best fun that I have had in a while. It was fun just zipping around some empty land on a segway. I did fall down since I was going too fast up a hill but it was funny, in my opinion. It's really funny just seeing friends fall down and the nervous hesitation when you first step onto them. After the one hour that we got to go on the segway for, we decided to explore the area around it where they had a homestead. The overall area of the place was really nice and quite family-friendly with gardens and a children's playground. If you want to try something new, I would highly recommend trying a segway.
Sorry, this post is really short but I hope that the photos make up for it (even though there aren't that many).
Sorry this post is so late and really over the place. Hopefully it will calm down soon.
Until next time, hope you all are healthy and well.
Since I was procrastinating already, I thought I would do something somewhat productive and post up my monthly favourites for April. This month has sort of been a blur to me in that I don't remember much. If you read my previous 2 posts, when I think back on April all I seem to remember is shopping. Lots and lots of shopping.
In terms of uni life and work life, my uni life has been more or so the same except for the assessments and mid-session exams that piled up on my workload. So that explains where some of my time went to. My work life has calmed down due to changing circumstances which has left me with some more free time. I have learnt to appreciate the weekend sleep-in which I was not allowed to have before. Oh sleeping in, how I have missed thee.
From last month, I have decided that I would have some set categories to every month but still allow myself to add categories if something really catches my attention in that month. For this month, it will just be the set categories to give myself a guideline and anyone else who happens to stumble upon this blog.
Music
This month has been totally been an Olly Murs month in terms of music.
I got his album off the iTunes store in March and listened to it once or twice but something about this month just made me want to listen to him non-stop. I have his whole discography now and I think it may have entered my 'Most Listened To' list. Some of my favourites are 'Dear Darlin', 'Oh My Goodness', 'Heart Skips A Beat' and 'Army of Two' but all three albums I could listen to happily. If you want something with upbeat songs but also with some ballads thrown in, definitely check him out. My Olly Murs listening spree also led me to purchase a ticket for his concert in November which I featured in my last post. I am afraid to say this but I had my first true fangirl moment when I purchased them and found out my friend loved him too. Oh Olly Murs, you have stolen my heart.
YouTube Clip:
This clip I found quite late into the month but I absolutely loved it when I first saw it. It's a clip from the show 'The Voice' Australia with two contestants, Harrison Craig and Tim Moxey, singing 'You Raise Me Up'.
I know I may be cheating since it's a clip from a TV show but I don't really watch the show and didn't even see this clip until I was looking up a performance that I saw in passing. This performance just blew me away with the way that their voices just blended and combined together so well and in such a heavenly way. I seriously wish that they could become a duo and keep singing songs like this. I don't know how else to describe except that it was absolutely amazing. My only disappointment is that after the performance ended Tim Moxey, the father, got eliminated. I really wished that one of the other judges saved him but I guess it wasn't meant to be. If Harrison makes it into the finals, I really wish they would bring Tim back for a duet.
TV Show:
My TV show for the month would have to be Veronica Mars.
I first watched this show when I was in high school but can't remember in what year/grade. I started rewatching it due to the Kickstarter project that they had to raise funds for the movie. I am proud to say that I am one of the backers for the 'Veronica Mars' movie. I was utterly guttered when I found out that the CW axed this show after its 3rd season and I was one of those people that signed every online petition to try and save the show. I remember after the announcement that it was on the chopping board, looking up information about it everyday after school. When I found out that they made a pilot for season 4 I started to regain some hope that it would continue but it wasn't to be. I think I have watched the pilot for season 4 about 10 times but it ends on a cliff-hanger so it's like torture watching it. I loved the show with the relationship between Veronica and her father, Keith, being the biggest factor. My favourite couple was always Veronica and Duncan but after mid- season 2 I knew that it wasn't the direction that the writers wanted to go. If you have yet to watch the show, I strongly suggest you watch it especially if you are into crime shows with humour and sass in it.
Cannot wait for the movie to be released!!
Fashion/Beauty
Since I'm not very into them but like to dabble them I thought I would combine them into one category. If I find one of each them I'll post them separately but not for now, it will be one favourite.
For this month, it would have to be a fashion purchase that I made over the past month, my Tokito white shift dress.
I purchased this dress from Myer while they were having their 'Take a further 75% off already reduced items' sale. It was simply adorable and I loved the feel and look of the dress that I had to purchase it. I think that it can be dressed down or up depending on the occasion and a great piece to have in the wardrobe.
With that, that concludes my monthly favourites for the month of April. These will be the core favourites that I will talk about every month but like I said previously, one or two extra categories may pop up time to time. Next time, will probably a lot of decorating for me so you may see a home-ware home decor favourite.
Until next time, take care and remember to enjoy every day to the fullest.
