Korea & Japan In-focus: Disneyland & Disney Sea
I was so tempted to have these theme parks as two separate posts but I thought that it would result in too much rambling from myself so I decided that it was best to restrict myself to one post.
Disneyland and Disney Sea are quite different from one another. Disneyland is the traditional Disney that you see in America with the castle and traditional Disney characters. Disney Sea on the other hand is very European/Mediterranean inspired with the buildings built in the park and large water vessel in the middle of the park. The park, in my opinion, is more geared towards the Disney Pixar movies with 'Toy Story' and 'The Incredibles'. Going to Disney Sea, really took me back to when I went to Europe so the park definitely bought up old memories and made me reminisce.
Over the course of the 2 days, I got to see the mania that is Disneyland in Japan. The amount of people inside the park was absolutely crazy, especially on the second day as we went on a Friday. We decided that we would try to get a fast pass for the really popular rides and then fill in the time with the rides with shorter lines. I finally got to go on the 'Space Mountain' and found it pretty fast but could have been because my friend and I decided to be those people who scream and 'WOO' at everything LOL. One of my favourite rides has to the the 'Scuttle' ride that is at the Disney Sea. Though it was a ride for little kids, it became such a good ride because it was so unexpectedly good. The ride seats two per car and the ride turns out to go up and down and fast enough that you get pushed from side to side of the car. It was such a good ride! I highly recommend it LOL. At Disneyland, I would really recommend the 'Enchanted Tiki Room'. The theatre, when we went, only had an extra person apart of us two but it was such a good show to see. You can get mini monitors that have English subtitles on it so you know exactly what they were saying so that's always a plus. Was really disappointed that the 'Indiana Jones' ride was closed when we went ...
We were also at the parks for the night shows - Dream Lights Parade at Disneyland and the Lights Show at Disney Sea. Out of the two, I would say that I enjoyed the Disney Sea show more just because it had a lot components as they had boats that came out onto the large water vessel/lake with projections and laser. The Disney Sea show also had some sort of storyline behind it so it was interesting to see that unfold also.
The food was another really surprisingly good thing. The food sold there was a lot cheaper than I expected. It would not be Disneyland without some Disney inspired food, so you can get 'Alien/Little Green Men Buns' influenced by 'Toy Story'. The biggest surprise was at Disney Sea. There is this Italian restaurant right near the Venice inspired area and you can get a full 3 course meal with coffee or tea for $25. That is absolutely mind-blowing for a theme park!
Oh, and I cannot forget about the performers. They had a daylight street show at Disneyland and the performers there were ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS! Three of the performers had really exaggerated expressions during the show and totally played it up for the camera. When they saw that I was talking photos, they would start posing for me even staying in the position until I gave them the 'Okay' sign. It totally made my day. I walked away just in the happiness mood. If you happen to go to Disneyland in Tokyo, highly recommend watching the performers just because they are ridiculously good at their job and hilarious.
Now onto the photos after that massive amount of writing ...
These mark the photos from Disney Sea.
Sorry about the lazy length of this post ... But looking back at the photos just took me back to the 2 days that I spent at Disneyland and Disney Sea. Definitely a place to visit when in Tokyo.
Until next time, remember to smile and laugh to your heart's content! (Sorry ... that was bad wasn't it LOL)
