Best of January 2013
I have decided that at the end of each month, I will do a recap of the month and what I found to be highlights of it. This is to make me reflect on the month and ensure that I post at least once a month ... I know I'm bad and lazy but at least I acknowledge it right?
I cannot believe that we are already saying goodbye to January. It seems to have gone by me in an instant and I don't know whether to think it's a good thing or not. It either means that I have done a lot in the past month or I have done nothing for long periods of time. Sadly for me, this month has been more of the second than the first reasoning. This month has mostly been me getting back into the routine of work after being away due to holidays and the Christmas/New Year break. January has also been characterised by me being at home majority of the time due to most of my family being away and my dad having work, leaving me with no car at home. Also, this month has been surprisingly full of shopping which has hurt my bank account by a significant amount. Well, it isn't that much but spending more than I anticipated hurts my bank account more than you would believe.
TV Show:
Has to be Emily Owens M.D.
I have watched the show from the very beginning but this past month I have learnt to appreciate the subtle humour and the way that the show takes on conflict without having to over-exaggerate everything. I have always been a fan of medical and crime shows but 'Emily Owens M.D.' has to be my favourite medical drama that I have seen. My best description of the show would have to be if 'Grey's Anatomy' decided to have an awkward little sister, that sister would be this show right here. It has the romantic conflict that you see in Grey's but it doesn't take it to the extreme levels that Grey's would. Sadly for me and other fans CW, the American network that airs the show, has decided to axe the show after 13 episodes which means there is only one more episode. When I heard this, I was quite saddened but have decided that I will appreciate and enjoy these 13 episodes with all of the love that I have.

I don't know if I would call it my favourite song of the month but it has been stuck in my head all month. Neon Trees - Everybody Talks. I swear it must have been the Channel Ten ads but this song has just been replaying itself non-step inside my head. It is just so upbeat and the perfect music just to bop your head to.
Person:
I only rediscovered this person but I have been loving watching Adam Hills. He is one of my favourite comedians and I just love his stand up. YouTube is a great source to see some of his recorded stand-up routines and I am seriously considering going to one of his live shows. I may decide to go to the Melbourne Comedy Festival when my mid-semester break comes along for uni but we shall see if my finances back up my plan. What I love about him is that he can just take an average audience member and make you laugh from just interacting with them. Probably one of my favourite live shows from him would be his 'Inflatable Tour' from 2011. That and 'Adam Hills Live in the Suburbs'. Those 2 recorded shows are absolutely hilarious, in my opinion, and can be found on YouTube.
Sorry for the delay in this post but I didn't really know what to include so the list of things may expand over the next couple of months.
