The 14th of February is known as Valentine's Day aka the 'Day of Lurveeee'. Typically people would celebrate this day with their girlfriend/boyfriend but since I am single, I decided that myself and a friend would go out to dinner and be each other's date. To make the day even more special I thought I would bake heart shaped cupcakes to give to her. They didn't turn out exactly how I liked but for my first time using the moulds I was pretty satisfied. At least now, I know how much batter to put into it to make it turn out perfectly.

We decided to head out to Canley Heights since that is where all the new restaurants are popping up. We headed into 'La Grilla' which is a modern Korean BBQ restaurant. At this restaurant, if you order meat, they cook it for you instead of you cooking it yourself which can displease certain customers. The food was pretty good especially their kimchi. We kept asking for seconds. The staff were very attentive and super nice, and the restaurant had a really good vibe to it. I would definitely recommend it and go back especially for the side dishes. We are already planning on going back to try out their soups.




After dinner, we headed out to get some dessert. The coffee ice-cream was the best one I have had so far and I thought 'Passionflower' was good but this takes the cake. My friend ordered the fried ice-cream and I loved the presentation of the dish.
